Pastor Joe and the HCC Youth Group

Joe and his students represent Harrison Christian church at TCTC 2019

An Intro from Next Gen pastor, Joe

I am originally from Colorado Springs Colorado. When I was a Sophomore in High School I became a Christian and started serving in my church soon after. In my Junior year, I felt a call to ministry and began leading small groups in my youth group. This experience, along with other service opportunities, opened my eyes and confirmed the call that I was supposed to be doing vocational ministry. After High School, I moved to Joplin Missouri to attend Ozark Christian College, where I received a Bachelors of Theology, specializing in Old Testament. It was near the end of this time that I met my wife Hope, whom I then married in March 2018. I moved to Johnson City to attend Emmanuel Christian Seminary to continue preparing for ministry.

Pray about and consider serving with the youth group! An old proverb says, β€œIt takes a village to raise a child.” Well, I believe it takes the whole Church to raise them up in the Lord.

The summer camp ministry of Appalachian Christian Camp

Camp ACC is a non-denominational Christian Summer Camp for youth entering Kindergarten through 12th grade. The camp program begins the first of June and continues through the summer, into early August . Camp ACC teaches Christian principles and values in a fun and exciting way that challenges today's youth. While Camp ACC is a church camp, you do not have to be a member of a church to attend.

The Camp ACC campus includes a full high ropes course, 4 ziplines, several low ropes course elements, gymnasium with an indoor rock climbing wall, ball field, sand volleyball court, a 5,000 square foot swimming pool, open-air worship center, air-conditioned dormitories and walking trails all surrounded by the beauty of Unicoi County.
